About Woodbine Garden Design
Woodbine Garden Design is owned by Stuart Thomson. In June 2012, Stuart changed career and having been in banking for 29 years, he became a Garden Designer.
Garden design had always been an interest for Stuart, having designed and built his first patio in his late teens. Stuart enrolled at the Pickard School of Garden Design in Bristol, 2012, where he was taught by Rob Whitehead, MSGD and in 2013 passed the Diploma in Garden Design with distinction.
Woodbine Garden Design provide a range of services, primarily aimed at clients based in Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and the Cotswolds, including:
- Garden Consultancy - generally a 1 hour visit to a client’s premises, followed up with a report providing design and planting suggestions.
- Border Redesign - an end-to-end service, from design right through to planting.
- Garden Design - a tailored garden design package, catering for any size of project.
"Having just started up my business, it was important for me to work with someone who was creative, flexible, knowledgeable, approachable and above all professional. Elke has all these qualities and more. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with her and am extremely pleased with the new website which looks fantastic."

How did Creative Gloo help?
A new website was required to support any offline marketing and also to start promoting the business across the Internet.
The focus was to build a website, which would utilise the Woodbine Garden Design business brand, promote the main services the business offers, to provide a call to action for prospective clients and to showcase recent projects. At the same time there was an opportunity to display some of the design drawings that have been produced for other clients.
Elke at Creative Gloo provided technical and creative input into the project, providing recommendations to bring everything together into a cohesive website proposition, from website design to the end-to-end development. Elke also has provided the business with a social media strategy, aimed at promoting more traffic to the website.
What was it like working with Creative Gloo?
I chose Creative Gloo as my web design and marketing partner, mainly because I had found a website which I felt mirrored what I wanted for the new business in terms of functionality, brand and design. I established that Creative Gloo had built the website and contacted Elke.
Elke and I met up initially to discuss my requirements and expectations and following an extremely informative meeting, we agreed to move forward with the website project. Elke provided a detailed project timeframe, identifying key milestones and during the design process, provided concepts which were right on the money.
The whole process has been extremely straightforward. Creative Gloo has been very easy to do business with and provides a professional personalised service from beginning to end.
What is next for your business?
The next steps are for Woodbine Garden Design to focus on bringing in new clients through a series of offline and online marketing initiatives. More importantly, our focus is ensuring our existing clients are provided with innovative, functional designs, which exceed their expectations.
